About
ABOUT
Self portrait of Cheyanne Hunter
My name is Cheyanne Hunter and I am a self-taught artist and degree-holding graphic designer based in California. From a brand standpoint, everything I create is Chunter Creations. My mission is to make the world a more appealing place through my art and design efforts. My passion is making people happy with beautiful things.

The world of art and design has been a part of my life since I was a child. Back then, my number one way to spend my time was through creative means. I would design flyers and posters for random (and badly choreographed) family performances, create illustrative books with random stories I had written, create intricate cards for friendly correspondence at school, and just about any other nonsense a child could possibly need. I was constantly creating and experimenting with anything I could get my hands on. I'd like to think that I've refined my skills as an artist and designer since then. I now have worked on various important projects as a designer and have mastered mediums such as acrylic paint, charcoal, ink, and graphite as an artist.

Over the years, I’ve come to prefer styles when it comes to my art and design (albeit it is ever-evolving and I like to work with all styles). For graphic design, I lean towards a clean, simple, and colorfully-muted style that gets the information across in an organized way. For my art, I prefer a dark and sketchy style that incorporates anatomy and realism. It is my favorite when I get to play with both styles at the same time.

COMMISSIONS & WORK

ART COMMISSIONS

Commission Type

Art commissions can be done in color or black-and-white. Subject matter can be human or animal. You are free to select more than one (i.e. a mix of black-and-white and color and/or both human and animal) and can have multiple subjects (at an increased price). Digital artwork can be made to look like traditional artwork. Traditional artwork will produce a physical copy whereas digital will not. It is your choice in what type of digital or traditional method you want your artwork produced.

Digital Artwork

.psd file (can be used in photoshop or other native programs; has layers and all relative information)

.jpg/.jpeg file (flat image without layers; scaled to specific size/resolution that you determine)

Multiple file types (the best of both worlds)

Traditional Artwork

Acrylic painting on canvas (most pricey based on time and expenses)

Graphite drawing on paper

Colored pencil on paper

Ink drawing on paper

Mixed media (a combo of any of the ones mentioned)

Digital artwork will be cheaper than traditional artwork since it doesn't have as many expenses to produce. Traditional artwork may also incur separate costs for packaging and shipping if not local delivery.

References & Image Quality

In order to have the best outcome for any commission work, please be sure to have the best quality reference images that you can. This means photos should have a good resolution and have as much detail present that you would like to include. Having multiple images or angles is a good way to make up for any photos that do not meet this standard. Missing details can be added and made up easily if you provide good references.

Please have a good idea of what you want prior to reaching out. If there are any must-haves or specific styles you prefer, be sure to note those as well. The best way to get a good outcome is to have both parties on the same page.

Pricing Factors

Art commissions have a starting price of $60 no matter what you want. This covers the most basic needs. Prices go up based on how complicated your needs are and how much time it will take to complete. Some things to consider when figuring out your budget would be:

Do you want digital or traditional? Color or black-and-white? What medium or file type? How big?

Digital is the cheapest option and traditional gets more expensive based on what you want. For either, black-and-white is the default and full-color costs more. Canvas or large papers (larger than 8"x10") would be additional costs as well. If you want the .psd file of digital works it is slightly more.

How soon do you need the artwork by?
Depending on available schedule, commissioned pieces may take a while to be completed. A rush order can be done at an additional price depending on how rushed it will need to be. Please mention this while inquiring about services.

What will be the delivery process for your artwork?

Digital and local pickup are included with any commission. Anything that needs to be packaged and shipped will incur those costs once needed. This will be added as part of your final payment before delivery.

All pricing will be discussed and itemized before any payments occur. You will need to approve or dispute any additional fees prior to moving on to any work being done.

Work Timeline & Process

  1. Any commission or work needed will first be discussed in an initial engagement and quote (started through first contact). This is where your needs as a client will be discussed and a timeline set. Once quotes and timelines are agreed upon, a non-refundable down payment is required before any work is started. This will be either 1/3 or 2/3 of your quote based on how many stages are needed for completion.

  2. If applicable, the next step is receiving a mock-up of any design or composition. This is the point where you would make any major changes such as adding a subject, repositioning things, or changing colors. If changes are needed, another mock-up will be sent adjusting for them. You are allowed only one redesign at this point. More mock-ups can be purchased at additional costs. At this point, you can agree to continue with the commission with another 1/3 payment of your quote (and any fees for additional mock-ups), or you can decide to part ways.

  3. After everything is complete for your commission, you will be sent a preview of the final work. Only minor changes can be made at this point (i.e. adjusting colors or contrast, adding a bit more detail, etc.) and one more preview will be sent if needed. Before being sent full resolution or physical copies of your artwork, the final 1/3 payment of the quote needs to be made (along with any additional fees for packaging and shipping).

Payments
Payments can be made via Square or with cash. Any other payment methods will have to be discussed and approved of beforehand. A receipt will be sent for each payment once made.

Works Published

Any art or work commissioned will be allowed to be published by the artist for their portfolio or social media unless stated otherwise and agreed upon. Ownership of the image belongs to the client outside of these terms. It is asked that credit is given to the artist if inquired about and that owner does not falsely claim as their own work.
